Behind the Scenes of Aida

The stage is set, the sets are in place, the lights are ready, and the actors stand quietly in place behind the red curtain waiting for the final rendition to commence before students, staff, family, and friends see the musical within the next twenty-four hours. On March 8, 2012, I attended the dress rehearsal of Aida to see what exactly happens behind the scenes of a Woodside High School production. Frantically, the actors add more blush and eyeliner, curl the last few strands of hair, move props, exercise their vocal cords, and get ready to prove that the past few months have been all worth it.
