His first name is the only thing he remembers when he opens his eyes in the lift. His memory is blank. As the doors open, they spill light into the lift, showing a wide range of land called the Glade and among the people who live there, the Gladers. The Glade’s wall closes at night. They have received a new boy every 30 days since they found themselves in the Glade.  They know people are watching them. Testing them. If you are in the maze when the Glade’s walls close, you will not come back. They know what to expect when a new boy comes into the lift, but when a girl is sent the day after Thomas arrives with a message from above, it turns into utter chaos. Thomas is more important than he will ever realize in figuring out the maze and returning the Gladers back home. If only he could unlock the memories that were taken from his mind…

    I love this book, but my school dosen’t have it. I’m trying to get a grant to get a class set for the 1 and 2 book. I really hope we get it ‘cuz i know a lot of kids will start reading.
